All About A Secret Manipulator Hidden In Television Show

By Daphne Bowen

The mass media has been very well known to always feed the minds of people with different kinds of messages just about everyday. Of course they do this even by the regular TV shows that people would watch every single day. Each television show actually has a secret manipulator hidden in television show that would take the form of the protagonist, the antagonist, and the other characters.

Now Herbert Kugman has stated that more often than not, a person who watches TV will be using his right brain and not much of his left brain. Now just a recap of the brain hemispheres, the left hemisphere houses the logical reasoning functions while the right brain houses the emotional response functions. So when a person would be using his right brain, then obviously he will be creating a number of emotional reactions.

This stems out from the fact that people who watch TV shows are more inclined to want to relax and not analyze too much about what they are watching. This then forces the brain to shift from the left hemisphere to the right hemisphere in a split second as the brain is more relaxed during this shift. It is because of this that people are actually drawn to watching certain shows because these shows can evoke emotional responses that appeal to the viewers.

Now in relation to this, there is one technique known as market segmentation that the media uses in order to target people. Notice that there are so many different genres of shows and so many different kinds at different times of the day. This is simply because the director would want to target only a certain group of people based on similar demographics and psychographics.

Now the whole purpose of a show is to make sure that there are a lot of viewers who are actually following it. Now with this in mind, one may ask himself how come there are shows that are so addictive. Now this would actually be because of the script that was written for the show because no one will watch something that has a bad plot or story line.

Of course the one who creates the plot is the writer of the story. The writer of the story would also be creating the dialogues that would be able to catch the attention of the viewers and to keep them hooked on the show. Of course since the writers are the ones behind the plot, then they would be the ones who would add the subliminal messages there that could appeal to the people.

Of course the same kind of theory would also be the same for reality television as well. Of course the concept of reality shows would appeal to people because it gives the people a feeling that they can become TV stars overnight. This is something that really appeals to viewers.

If one would really take a look at shows these days, they target what the viewers aspire in their lives. The goal of the directors is to make sure that people can relate and immerse themselves in the TV program. This is how they manipulate the viewers.
