Tips In Practicing Fashion Style Drawing In Paper

By Tammie Caldwell

Feeling satisfied with a task is a matter of whether you did your best to accomplish it, or is it just for compliance. You know better what you love. And it is by acting on that passion that you start to see meaning on the effort and time you spend in doing it.

This does not mean though that everything will come in easier the moment you set your heart on something. It takes time and effort to be good at anything, and no matter how you visualize, if you do not do the work, you will not get anywhere. Same goes for those who are looking at opportunities to excel in the fashion industry. Fashion style drawing is one of those basic activities to develop your skills in creating unique designs.

Once you have realized what you love to do most, the next big challenge would be to actually do something about it. In the case of those who love fashion, you will have to schedule your regular practice that is fit for the current one that you have. Take a look at these things that can help you.

Start with the tools. Before you can start drawing, it is suggested that you secure the tools that you will use first. They do not have to be very fancy. As long as you can draw the design that you have in mind, then it will already do. Any clean sheet of paper will do. If you are planning to have a clear documentation of it however, keeping a sketch pad or a binder might be a good idea.

Think of the concept. Sometimes, you do not have to do the actual drawing to get some things done. The act of thinking about design concepts alone is already something, and you need this as a form of mental exercise. Best thing is, you do not have to be anywhere special in order to do this. After all, ideas can come any time.

Select a good place and time. If you do not have some issues with flexibility, then you may not have a problem with finding whats appropriate. You may have it any time you feel like it. However, if you have other responsibilities like a day job, then organizing a schedule may be best. Find a great place where you can focus and a spare time.

Practice discipline. There are times when we feel discouraged about something that we do especially when we are not seeing some immediate rewards of whatever we are doing. It is only discipline that keeps us from doing it even if we dont feel like drawing something.

Find someone who can give you objective feedback. While your creativity is the biggest factor in creating a great craft, it will also be good if you ask another pair of eyes to comment on what you did. How good is the design. It is on you on how you would take the comment and apply them on your next works.

If you want to excel at the thing that you love to do, doing it occasionally is not enough. You will have to do it often. Get straight with what you wish to accomplish and start working.
